Microsoft gets antitrust approval for buying Skype

The $8.5 Billion purchase of Skype by Microsoft was accepted by the FTC ( Federal Trade Commission ) and has won itself an antitrust approval on Friday as reported by Reuters.

Microsoft in May had announced that it would acquire the Voice-over-IP (VOIP) client – Skype and would distribute several of it’s features for it’s already running services like the Xbox , Microsoft Outlook , Microsoft office , its Windows Phones and to make Skype’s video and voice chat features available on various systems and mobile devices .

SEGA network hacked and User content stolen

SEGA – The popular and large gaming company has become the target by a couple of hackers who had burst  into their systems and have stolen vital information from the SEGA Pass database service .

The company mails its users alerting them about the attack that happened on Thursday and has taken all its gaming networks offline as it was confirmed that the hackers had stolen – Usernames , birth dates,  encrypted passwords and email addresses .

Sony to resume Playstation Network and marks no evidence of credit card info stolen

Sony has approved that it will resume the PlayStation network operations within a week after the shutdown by an external hacking force and a massive breach of credit card information . Kaz Hirai apologizes at the companies press conference in Tokyo “We apologize deeply for causing great unease and trouble to our users,” bowing their heads in sorrow for the unexpected breach .

Google offers an easier way to transfer Google videos to youtube

After Google’s recent message about it shutting down it’s video service , it was mandatory and recommended for all the users to Manually download and upload their videos on YouTube .  I guess after reading out that message many of you might have wondered why Google had never really made it easy to just transfer the videos to YouTube in one click . Well the good news is Google has voiced your concerns .

Intels Cpu Technology Still Going Strong

Intel’s next-generation, 22nm microprocessors will enable sleeker device designs, higher performance and longer battery life at lower costs. so what does this all mean. Well when you think back to The First Microprocessor, Back In 1971, the 4004 had approximately 2,300 transistors,  in 2002 the Intel® Pentium® M processor had 55,000,000 transistors, that was a 90nm CPU.

Sony Playstation Network Attacked by external force

 

UPDATED

The Sony PlayStation network went down at Wednesday night , as it was unexpectedly attacked by an external force . They had also reminded users that their network would be down for a day or two due to the unknown attack . Sony has confirmed and admitted that their systems were affected by an external intrusion and a thorough investigation would be carried on to dig up further clues on the matter .

RockMelt to be Available at the app store for the iPhone

The Social media web browser RockMelt released it’s project  in December 2010 as a Private beta ,which was backed by Netscape . The browser featured several new ways to interact with friends online , and reinvented the idea of surfing  while simultaneously performing social networking tasks  like on several social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
