Behold!

One cold winter morning,I was as usual, strolling through my daily coffee of tech forums early this morning {which had mostly experienced ‘geeks’, much like our forums}, when I saw a post about some error a fellow geek has encountered on his desktop, he was fortunate enough to post a screenshot of his desktop; but just as I was about to scratch my head over to help him solve that problem {which was , heck, new to me!}, something else began to scratch my head, something more intense, more rationale to this problem.. it was his desktop. Is The SSD Harddrive Taking Over

SSD Hard Drive

This year  there has been a 4 per cent decline in hard-disk drives (HDD) shipments to 161m units in the first quarter,

Solid State Drives have dropped in price by 18%  down to a  $2 per Gigabyte range its been driven down from cheaper chips and higher demand. Does this mean a end for the good old hard drives, You just have to take a look at what the markets doing, the days of 99% desktops and 1% laptops down at your local computer shop are well and truly over anyone can see its all about small and portable computers. So that’s where the ssd drive comes in, when you make something like a iPhone, what good would it be using a 3.5inch hard-drive,  and what about the power it would use, this is why they are forever trying to shrink the hard-drive it just does not work that good, now with ssd drives they don’t need any motors or platters, they just need chips, the power consumption is less, its really a no brainier we are now starting to move to the ssd era, you could say the good old hard drives will be left for high end servers and paperweights, About Time
