Barely a month after Microsoft had released it’s brand new HTML5 friendly Browser, Internet Explorer 9 , they have come up with the Platform preview of the Internet Explorer 10 . It’s really impressive how the developers are doing their best to visualize the experience of their upcoming browsers .
The IE 10 platform preview was showcased at today’s Mix11 developer conference in Las Vegas . IE 10 features more about improvement in it’s native HTML5 support ; it’s more of a follow up of the IE 9 and doesn’t seem focus a lot on UI improvements .The IE 10 preview can be downloaded here .
It’s main area of focus is on Hardware and GPU acceleration , improved HTML5 and CSS3 functionality , and making optimum use of the PC’s hardware to render the components on the web .
At the conference ,Microsoft and it’s developers had displayed the new browser engine by conducting several test drives . The Test drive simulations were updated and newer ones were added for easier and clearer visual demonstration of the HTML5 environment . You can have a look at the newest demonstrations put up like the Fish Bowl which replaced the FishIE Tank .
Dean Hachamovitch, Corporate Vice President, Internet Explorer writes saying
IE10 continues several patterns from IE9. In addition to the Platform Preview available for developers to download at www.ietestdrive.com, we have posted new test drives and over 500 new tests we’ve submitted to the standards bodies. IE’s approach to emerging standards results in less churn and more progress for developers. IE10 builds on full hardware acceleration and continues our focus on site-ready Web-standards. This combination enables developers to deliver the best performance for their customers on Windows while using the same, Web-standard markup across browsers.
We look forward to continuing to engage the community and hearing your feedback.
I think that the real exciting part of this Platform preview is the reinvention of the concept of HTML5 , taking it to newer heights with lots of improvements to be seen .
